G C
Dark and silent late last night

I think I might have heard the highway calling
Em C D
Geese in flight and dogs that bite
C G Em D C D
Signs that might be omens say I going, going
    G D C D G
I'm going to Carolina in my mind

[Chorus]

G C D
In my mind I'm going to Carolina
C D
Can't you see the sunshine
C D
Can't you just feel the moonshine
G Em
Maybe just like a friend of mine
   C G D
It hit me from behind
C D G D C D G
Yes I'm going to Carolina in my mind

[Outro]

       Em C Em D
With a holy host of others standing round me
G C Em D
Still I'm on the dark side of the moon
       C C D G
And it seems like it goes on like this forever
         Em D
You must forgive me
              G D C D G
If I'm up and gone to Carolina in my mind

[Chorus]

G C D
In my mind I'm going to Carolina
C D
Can't you see the sunshine
C D
Can't you just feel the moonshine
G Em
Maybe just like a friend of mine
   C G D
It hit me from behind
C D G D C D G
Yes I'm going to Carolina in my mind

For the D in every 3rd line of the verses, you can put your pinky down on the high G
beside your middle finger which is on the F#). It'll sound nice, but it sounds the best if
do it like this:

D (wait) (add the pinky) (take it off)
"Whisper something warm and kind"

Good luck!
